Cinderella

March 6-8, 2026

Cinderella, the world’s best-known fairytale is making its return to NYB! The classic story ballet, choreographed in 2022 by Denise Cecere and Joseph Jefferies, is set to Sergei Prokofiev's magnificent score, featuring beautiful costumes and lavish sets by renowned designer Roger LaVoie. The creative team, accompanied by a talented cast of dancers, brings an entertaining theater experience for the whole family to enjoy!

Cinderella, meaning "little cinder girl," is poorly treated by her wicked stepmother and ugly stepsisters. Cinderella knows that being kind is a sort of magic that can transform the world. Despite the cruelty she faces, she is warm and sincere with everyone she meets. When her evil stepmother forbids her to attend the Royal Ball, her Fairy Godmother visits her in the garden and transforms her rags into a stunning tulle gown, her shoes into glistening slippers, mice into regal horses, and a pumpkin into a magical carriage to escort the beautiful maiden to the ball in style.

Upon arrival, Cinderella dances with a handsome prince who quickly falls in love with her kindness and beauty. Cinderella knows she must flee at midnight before the clock strikes midnight. In a rush, she loses a slipper. Prince Charming journeys across the land to find his true love. When the two reunite, they rejoice and live happily ever after, proving that goodness, kindness, and love can overcome the challenges life may bring.
