Audition for the Conservatory at NSB!
2025-2026 School Year
AUDITIONS for the 2025-2026 school year will be scheduled in January 2025.
If you missed this year's audition and are interested in auditioning for the 2024-2025 school year, please email Educational & Business Administrator, Caroline Jewell, at northeastschoolofballet@gmail.com to schedule an evaluation class with the director, Denise Cecere.
Auditions are for dancers ages 12-20. Advanced Registration is required to audition. Please review NSB's Policies and Procedures. Parents will not be allowed in the building on audition day. If you prefer to submit a video audition, follow the instructions below.
The in-studio auditions will take place at NSB Studios, 32 Lowell Street, Reading, MA.
* Please arrive a half-hour early
* Bring pointe shoes
* Audition Fee payable to Northeast School of Ballet: Online Registration will be open 1/1/2025

* Audition results will be mailed within 10-14 days of the audition
* If unable to make a scheduled audition students may schedule an evaluation class with NSB before June 2025 by emailing northeastschoolofballet@gmail.com or by calling (781) 944-9100. You may also send an audition video to Northeast School of Ballet, 32 Lowell Street, Reading, MA 01867.
Video Audition Requirements for NSB’s 2025-2026 School Year:
- Open video with name, age, ballet school, city, state and country
- A headshot *professional photographs are not necessary
- Two photos in ballet clothing: first arabesque and tendu (À la seconde)
- A short description of the student’s training
- Audition Video Combinations at the Barre and Center:
At the barre: pliés, tendus, ronds de jambe, fondus, ronds de jambe en l’air and grand battements. In center: adagio, tendus, pirouettes, petite allégro, and grand allégro, and 3 exercises en pointe for candidates who have had previous pointe work.
