NSB Dress Code

All students must follow the required dress code below, both at the studio and at home during virtual learning. We believe that adding the opportunity for students to self-identify their gender helps us to better understand and serve our student population.

We are pleased to share several dance supply stores that are carrying our dress code items. Please call stores in advance to see if they have your size in stock.

No additional attire, including warm-ups, accessories, or jewelry should be worn in class or on stage. Students should have their hair tied neatly back in a bun. Boys should not have hair hanging in face.

  • Body Wrappers White Short Sleeve “snug fit” shirt style # B400 (boys), # M400 (Mens)

  • Black M-Stevens tights (Levels III - Conservatory) Style #1099

A dancer that identifies as a Girl Dress Code:

  • Black and White Wear Moi “Diane” Camisole Leotard

  • Body Wrappers Tights with seam: Child (#C31), Adult (#A45) or Pink Euroskins with Seam Child (#219C), Adult (#210). If Body Wrappers or Euroskins do not have natural skin tone colors in stock, students should choose the make and color which is closest to their natural skin tone.

  • Black and White Bullet Pointe Skirts (Purchase at NSB)

  • Pink & Natural Skin Tone Canvas Colored Ballet Slippers for contemporary ballet
