Cultural and Creative Programs

Explore New Opportunities

Cultural Exchange Program:

As part of NYB’s mission to develop its young dancer's personal growth, the company began a Cultural Exchange Program in 1996. For over 24 years, the program has exposed dancers to different styles of dance, choreography, teachers & directors, fellow dancers and cultures. NYB believes exposing young dancers to other organizations both nationally and internationally not only broadens their education and interest in dance, but creates a sense of unity that helps them understand how powerful the arts can be in developing relationships, building community and breaking down the fear of differences in our society.

NSB Student Choreography Program:

Moving Forward NSB Student Choreography Program, Moving Forward, provides an opportunity for NSB Trainees to further enrich their training beyond the traditional student/ performer boundaries. Students will experiment with elements of contemporary composition and explore how to organize and bring to life their thoughts while working with dancers in a leadership role. Student choreographers will be selected through a review process. The work/works will be presented at the Choreographer’s Showcase. The Performance will be open to the parents and live-streamed to an audience from NSB’s studio theater.

Assistant Teaching Program:

Conservatory students are invited to assist NSB faculty in classes outside their academic and dance schedule. When asked, it is an honor and it usually means that he/she has demonstrated characteristics such as dedication to dance, willingness to help, cooperation in class, leadership skills and a caring and compassionate nature. Our faculty can identify the spirit of a future teacher and helps cultivate and nurture these qualities.
